Free Oral Cancer Screenings Available at Northwestern Lake Forest

Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital will offer free oral cancer screenings on September 19 from 1:00 to 3:30 pm at 990 North Westmoreland Road, Suite 208 in Lake Forest.  Richard Martino, DDS, will provide the oral cancer screenings. 

Oral cancer is the largest group of those cancers which fall into the head and neck cancer category. Common names for it include mouth cancer, tongue cancer, tonsil cancer, and throat cancer. There are more than 34,000 cases of squamous cell carcinoma of the oral cavity and pharynx in America each year. A thorough examination of the mouth by a trained professional takes only a few minutes and may lead to detecting cancer early and at a curable stage.
