Friends of Lake Forest Parks and Recreation announces Oktoberfest event

The Friends of Lake Forest Parks and Recreation Foundation President announces they will host an Oktoberfest celebration on Saturday, Oct. 1

The Friends of Lake Forest Parks and Recreation Foundation President Mark Milliman announces they will host an Oktoberfest celebration on Saturday,October 1st. Those looking to enjoy all things German - and wanting to give back to the community - may want to head to Deerpath Community Park. The inaugural event will feature a bier garden, live bands, German food as well as games and activities.

“Lake Forest Oktoberfest brings the fun of a contemporary Biergarden including wine, German food
and live music to Lake Forest” said event director Rick Amos. “It will be similar to the Festival and Fireworks
and it will be another great community event for friends and families.” The gates open at 1:30 with the fun
and music from 2-10 PM. Beer and food will be sold and no coolers are allowed. A commemorative beer
stein will be available for $20.Tickets for admission are $10. Children under 5 years of age are free. Parking
is $10. All-day access is provided with admission ticket.

"We're excited to support the Parks and Recreation department and their programs as they are an
important role within our Community. The funds raised at this event go to support their hard work”,
commented Milliman.

The Friends of Lake Forest Parks and Recreation Foundation supports Parks and Recreation projects
and activities within Lake Forest. Major fundraising efforts include the Fred Jackson Golf Classic, July 4th
Festival and Fireworks along with the Tree-lighting ceremony at Market Square. They also act as a passthrough entity for those that wish to donate funds to other charitable causes within the community without having to establish a foundation for that specific cause.
