Gallery Opening "Sumi-e Midwest, Painting in the Asian Manner

The Deer Path Art League invites you to join us at our Gallery for the experience of viewing paintings by the Sumi-e Midwest group. Sumi-e is an ink wash painting style that dates back to fifth century China. The painter’s goal is not to simply reproduce the appearance of the subject, but to capture its spirit. The artist’s personality is said to come out through their paintings. We will be displaying the artwork of Gloria Bradle, Monica Cardestam, Lynn Foster, Maxine Gladstone, Steve Grant, Patricia Larkin Green, Pam Houcek, Regina Siske, Jan Keller Schultz, Ileane Tatar and Kay Thomas.
