Gorton To Hold First Blood Drive

The Gorton Community Center will partner with the Red Cross for its first-ever blood drive Monday, Sept. 24.

From Gorton Community Center: Living up to its mission to serve the community, Gorton Community Center will partner with the Red Cross on Monday, September 24 by hosting its first-ever blood drive. The event will take place from in the Stuart Community Room from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“This is the kind of event that Gorton was founded to do,” says executive director Amy Wagliardo. “We’re thrilled to be hosting this event for the Red Cross in our efforts to support them in all they do for our community, our country, and our world.”

Anyone who would like to donate blood sure be sure to eat a healthy meal and drink an extra 16 oz. water and fluids before the donation. Donors should also be sure to bring a photo ID, blood donor card, and two other forms of identification.

If donors would like to save up to 15 minutes when they’re giving blood, they should register for a RapidPass. To do so, visit redcrossblood.org/RapidPass for more information. Be sure to note that a RapidPass can only be obtained on the day of your donation.
