Historical Photo: Onwentsia Club Has Lake Forest Roots
Weekly posting celebrates city's sesquicentennial.

Well, my intentions were good.
My execution, well, not as good.
In posting the photo of Mill Creek Hunt Club, I was trying to get to its roots as the Onwentsia Club in Lake Forest.

The Mill Creek Hunt Club, as Art Miller so accurately commented, was located in the Milburn/Old Mill Creek area west of Waukegan after growth moved it out of Lake Forest. The Mill Creek Hunt had been in existence since 1897 when it began as the Onwentsia Club.

My apologies as well for allowing the word 'store' to remain in the bottom part of the copy. I missed taking it out and didn't mean to make it look like I was looking for a name of a store. Thanks, Gail, for that comment.
