Teen Ghost Hunters Break Into Mansion: Lake Forest Crimes
Lake Forest Police Blotter: July 27 - Aug. 3

LAKE FOREST, IL — The following information comes from the Lake Forest Police Department as a record of those arrested by police. Readers are reminded that an arrest is not an indication of guilt and criminal charges, which represent merely accusations by the state, are often dropped or reduced. All persons named are innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
SUSPENDED LICENSE
A 31-year-old Kenosha woman was arrested on July 27 at 5:38 p.m. at near the intersection of Waukegan and Carroll roads. Police were on routine patrol when they spotted her gray Nissan sedan and noted it had an expired registration. When they spoke to the driver, they learned her license was suspended. She was arrested and cited for expired registration and driving while license suspended.

CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE
Nathaniel J. Dyson Jr., 24, of the 400 block of North Genesee Street in Waukegan, was arrested on July 30 at 8:38 p.m. near the intersection of Laurel Avenue and Hawkweed Lane. Police on routine patrol checked a parking lot in the Open Lands area and located a parked vehicle with three people inside. Officers spoke with the occupants and smelled the odor of marijuana. The occupants admitted to having cannabis in their possession and exited the vehicle. Police arrested all three. Police said Dyson had a large quantity of Oxycodone and $3,620 in cash in his possession and was charged with felony unlawful possession of a controlled substance. The vehicle's other two occupants, a 32-year-old Waukegan man and a 20-year-old Lake Forest man, were cited for possession of cannabis.

SUSPENDED LICENSE
A 19-year-old Buffalo Grove man was arrested on July 31 at 4:48 a.m. near the intersection of Deerpath and Washington roads. Police were on patrol around Lake Forest College when they noticed an occupied vehicle parked in a No Parking Zone. After speaking with the driver, they learned his license had been suspended. Police said he admitted to driving in the area and knowing that his license had been suspended. As police arrested him, they found a small amount of cannabis in his pocket and drug paraphernalia in his car and charged him with both.
SPEEDING WITH NO LICENSE
A 31-year-old Waukegan man was arrested on Aug. 4 at 8:22 a.m. on Route 41 at Gage Lane. Police on routine patrol stopped his car for speeding 78 mph on Route 41. When they spoke to the driver, they learned he did not have a valid driver's license.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE, TRESPASS
An 18-year-old Waukegan man and two minors, a boy and a girl, were detained Aug. 4 at 7:22 p.m. in the 400 block of Mayflower Road after allegedly breaking into the Schweppe Mansion because they had heard it was haunted. Police had responded to a residential burglar alarm at the estate when they found the trio on the property. An investigation determined two of them had broken a window at the home in order to enter the vacant mansion. Police also found a small amount cannabis and drug paraphernalia in the 18-year-old's possession. He was charged with criminal damage to property, criminal trespass to residence, possession of cannabis and drug paraphernalia and driving while license suspended. The two juveniles were questioned and turned over to their parents with no citations or charges. Police said the reported cost of the damage was not immediately available.
DUI
Brian K. Kadluboski, 46, of the 2200 block of Devonshire Road in Waukegan, was arrested Aug. 5 at 2:37 a.m. near the intersection of Illinois and Green Bay roads after police on patrol saw him driving down the wrong side of Green Bay Road. Police immediately stopped the vehicle, and while speaking with the driver they smelled alcohol on his breath and noticed several alcoholic beverage containers in the vehicle. Police said Kadluboski appeared intoxicated and asked that he perform several field sobriety tests. He evidently failed, because he was soon placed under arrest and charged with driving under the influence.
