PARK CITY, IL — A woman who called 911 to say she stabbed her husband to death was arrested Tuesday and immediately hospitalized with "serious self-inflicted injuries," Waukegan police said. Around 7:30 a.m., officers dispatched to the couple's home watched the 47-year-old woman get into a black SUV and drive away from the scene, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.
Police said they pursued the woman along O'Plaine Road and east along Route 120 for about 2 miles before she came to a stop at Knight Avenue and was taken into custody, according to the Lake County News-Sun. Police found her 38-year-old husband dead inside their single-family home in the 4400 block of Swallowtail Drive.
Police are withholding identities of both people until notification is made to family members and "detectives can conclude their investigation," according to the Sun-Times. No charges had been filed as of Tuesday afternoon. The Lake County Coroner's Office has scheduled an autopsy for the man Wednesday.
