Inventory Home at Willow Lake in Lake Forest, Ill., Offers Early Move-In Opportunity
Construction is underway on a new early-delivery inventory home available for September move-in

Red Seal Homes announces construction is underway on a new early-delivery inventory home available for September move-in at Willow Lake, a community of 52 semi-attached, maintenance-free luxury residences in Lake Forest, Ill.
“With our latest inventory home, buyers have the chance to fast-forward through the weeks – and even months – that it takes for the initial planning, permitting and site work required for a typical new-construction build,” said Brian Hoffman, an executive with Northbrook, Ill.-based Red Seal Homes. “We selected one of our most popular floor plans and have already broken ground, poured the foundation, completed framing, and are currently roughing-in mechanicals. Now is the perfect time for buyers to come in and purchase this home so they can choose those final touches and finishes that will truly make it their own.”
Hoffman noted the inventory home is located on a prime home site in the development, which is located east of the Interstate 94/Route 60 interchange on land that previously was part of an estate belonging to Marshall Field. Much of the estate’s original wetlands, mature trees and other elements, including scenic Willow and East Lakes, have been carefully preserved, creating a peaceful natural setting. The inventory home backs up to a wooded area and one of two lakes in the community that homeowners have access rights to for fishing and kayaking.

The inventory home features the Abberton floor plan, a 2,989-square-foot, two-story design with three bedrooms, 3½ baths, a full basement and attached two-car garage. It is expected to be priced from $910,000, pending final finish selections.
“We chose to build the Abberton for this inventory home because it appeals to so many lifestyles, from busy professionals, to families, to downsizers and empty nesters,” said Hoffman. “It falls into that ‘just right’ size range while still offering many of those extra areas that make all the difference in a home’s livability. These include a den for added flexibility, as well as a formal dining room and more casual eating area in the open kitchen and family room area.”

Hoffman added that the den has a walk-in closet and is adjacent to a hall bath, making it ideal to use as a guest room. The Abberton also includes a convenient mudroom or hobby space off the two-car garage. Additionally, buyers can choose either a patio or a covered deck or porch off the back of the home. “Every home at Willow Lake has great outdoor space because we know our residents will want to take full advantage of the community’s beautiful surroundings,” said Hoffman.
Upstairs, the Abberton has two secondary bedrooms, each with a walk-in closet. One of the bedrooms has an en-suite bath, while the other has a direct door to a hall bath. The master suite has been expanded with an optional sitting area and also includes a large walk-in closet and spa-like master bath with dual-bowl vanity and separate shower and soaking tub. A generously sized laundry room rounds out the second floor.
Depending on when they purchase, buyers will have the opportunity to personalize the home with a selection of interior finishes from a package of high-end included features, such as crown molding in the first-floor living spaces; site-finished oak hardwood flooring throughout the main living areas; porcelain and ceramic tile in the bathrooms, mudroom and laundry room; an oak staircase with an oak railing between the first and second floor, per plan; and 9-foot ceilings throughout the home, including the basement. Additionally, buyers can work with the Red Seal design team to make final selections for the island kitchen, including 42-inch cabinetry, quartz countertops, custom tile backsplash, and professional stainless steel appliances including double ovens and a chimney-style exhaust hood.
The Abberton inventory home also includes exterior features such as taupe cement board siding with stone accents, cedar shake-shingle roofing and a wide front porch. The concrete driveway is accented with a paver border and leads to a side-load garage that is finished with interior-level trim details such as molding and window trim.
Residents of Willow Lake enjoy a prime Lake Forest location less than 3 miles from downtown and across the street from Conway Farms Golf Club, which hosts the PGA’s BMW Championship, formally known as the Western Open. It also offers easy access to the Tri-State Tollway/Interstate 94. Willow Lake is served by Lake Forest School Districts 67 and 115.
Willow Lake offers a total of seven floor plans, ranging in size from 2,491 to 4,338 square feet. Homes are priced from $800,000 and have two to four bedrooms, 2½ to 3½ baths, attached two-car garages and full, unfinished basements.
