It's a Wonderful Life ... in Lake Bluff

Lake Bluff, IL – November 13, 2015 –The downtown Lake Bluff merchants are kicking off the holiday season with the annual “It’s a Wonderful Life … In Lake Bluff” celebration on Saturday, December 5 from 1 until 5 in the afternoon.

Residents and visitors alike will revel in the holiday atmosphere complete with reindeer on the village green, old fashioned, horse-drawn carriage rides, carolers, roasted chestnuts, a visit from Santa Claus, one of Santa’s elves hosting a children’s story time, and a fabulous raffle to win gifts and prizes from participating local merchants.

To top off the festivities, the Gazebo on the Green will come alive with a lighting ceremony complete with sing-along caroling with Lake Bluff Middle School singers.

Shoppers can pick up a Holly Jolly Passport anytime during the day at participating merchants to enter to win gifts and prizes from local stores and eateries. While visiting stores, shoppers will have their passport stamped and take the completed passports to any store by 4:30 pm. The winners will be announced on Monday, December 7.

11 am-4 pm: Lake Bluff History Museum Historic Christmas Home Tours

10 am-5 pm: Artists on the Bluff at the Lake Bluff Train Station

1-5 pm: Reindeer on the Green

1-3 pm: Carriage rides sponsored by Lake Forest Bank & Trust

1-3 pm: Santa Claus at the Lake Bluff History Museum

1-3 pm: Storytime with Santa’s Elf at the Lake Bluff Library

4-5 pm: Singing provided by local carolers and the Buckthorns

5 pm: Gazebo on the Green lighting
