James Lindeman, 82, Lake Forest

James J. Lindeman passed away Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at home, with his one love, best friend, and wife of 59 years Susan Monek Lindeman at his side. Jim was a good friend and loving father to his daughters Ann (Dean) Pohl and Carol Kroeger and grandchildren Phoebe, Charlotte, Christian, Gracie, Michael, and Lexie.

Jim is the son of Dr. Carol Henry Lindeman and Zoe Augusta Fitzgerald Lindeman, born in St. Louis MO and raised in Our Lady of the Lourdes Parish. He is preceded in death by his sister Zoe Buckley and brother Dr. John Lindeman. Jim is survived by his brother Robert and sister Mary Fournie.

Living his life in the true Jesuit spirit, Jim attended St. Louis University High School; Regis College, Denver CO; School of Law: Loyola University, Chicago IL; and completing his formal education at The University of Chicago Business School. Jim is known for his honor and patriotism, having served in the United States Army and Air Force Reserves.

Jim enjoyed the many years he worked as a Vice President, Continental Bank, Chicago IL, in commercial real estate and as the President of Florida Street National Bank, Baton Rouge LA, prior to returning to Lake Forest.

Jim will be remembered for his willingness to share his depth of knowledge, his love of books, his sense of humor, his sailing adventures on his boat Slo Motion, and for being the consummate gentleman. He is greatly loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
