Janet McCue, 87, Lake Forest

Funeral Mass at 11:30am on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at the Church of St. Mary, 175 E. Illinois Road, Lake Forest.

Janet McCue, 87, long-time resident of Lake Forest and parishioner of St Mary Catholic church, passed away peacefully at her home September 25, 2022. Janet was a dedicated teacher at Woodlands Academy of the Sacred Heart for 22 years. She attended Trinity High School River Forest and St Mary’s College of Notre Dame where she met countless life long friends. Continuing her education, Janet attended Loyola University where she earned her Masters degree in Mathematics. Janet met the love of her life, Jim, at a party in Lake Geneva and they were married for over 50 years. They moved from the West Side to Lake Forest to raise their six children and were blessed with the best of neighbors on Greenbriar Lane. Janet never met a stranger, she was known for her kindness, honesty and faith. Janet was a daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, teacher, tutor, volunteer, crafter and friend of many. She will be dearly missed by all. Wife of the late Bernard “Jim” McCue. Mother of Michael (Michelle) McCue, Julia (Matt) Nelson, Kevin (Sandy) McCue, Brian (Lexi) McCue, Colleen Groves and Maura (Don) Johnansson. Grandmother of 22. Great Grandmother of 3. Sister of Robert (Judy) O’Connell and James (Ann) O’Connell.
