"Jewish Parenting 101" Coming to Highland Park Synagogue
Congregation Solel will host the new Sunday series.

An upcoming session at a Highland Park synagogue will focus on parenting and some of the issues that inevitably come along the way.
The “Jewish Parenting 101” program to be held Sundays at 9:45 a.m. at Congregation Solel in Highland Park “an outgrowth of a more formal three-session workshop led by Cantor Vicky Glikin and based on the bestseller, “The Blessings of a Skinned Knee: Using Jewish Teachings to Raise Self-Reliant Children,” by Wendy Mogel,” the Chicago Tribune reports.
“I’m a parent of two young boys, so any time I can connect with other parents, I take the opportunity to do so,”said Elizabeth Levin of Highland Park, who attended previous sessions. “We can always learn from other people and talking about different ways of doing things is helpful.”

Alexandra Wendt is facilitating the new series.
“Finding the commonality in the trials and tribulations as well as the good and exciting things about this thing called life is very fulfilling,” Wendt said. “There is no wrong or right. What’s nice is the conversation.”
