Jogger Attacked on Bike Path in Lake Bluff

A Hispanic man pushed a 44-year-old woman to the ground on the Robert McClory Bike Path near Sheridan Road Tuesday night, police said.

LAKE BLUFF, IL - A woman was attacked while jogging on the Robert McClory Bike Path near Sheridan Road in Lake Bluff Tuesday night.

The 44-year-old woman told police she was jogging on the path north of East Blodgett Avenue just before 7 p.m. Tuesday night when a Hispanic man pushed her to the ground, David Belmonte of the Lake Bluff Police Department said.

The woman's screams frightened the suspect, who retreated to a pick-up truck and drove north on Sheridan Road toward North Chicago.

The man is described as 5'7" to 5'8", heavy set and was possibly wearing a hat or jacket at the time of the attack.

Residents are urged to call the Lake Bluff Police Department if they saw anything suspicious on Sheridan Road around this time.
