Junior Tennis Clinic to Benefit Cystic Fibrosis by LFHS BOYS Varsity Tennis Team and RCLB - April 11

Fun, 2-hour Tennis Clinic for Junior Players, includes drills, food and fun with LFHS Boys Varsity Tennis Team --benefit for Cystic Fibrosis

The Racquet Club of Lake Bluff will hold a junior tennis clinic on Sat, April 11, from 6-8 pm. The LFHS Boys Varsity Tennis Team will be on all the courts working with junior players on tennis drills and instructions, games and techniques. This 2nd annual community service project will benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Institute. The Varsity Team is coached by Corky Leighton and Scott Gilbert.

Children of all ages are encouraged to attend and the cost for the evening is $30. This included the two hours of tennis, food, music and fun. Junior players will be divided into groups by skill levels and ages. Some racquets will be available for use if players need to borrow one that evening. The emcee for the evening will be Rod Schroeder, a Head Professional and the Junior Tennis Coordinator at the Racquet Club of Lake Bluff. The RCLB is donating all their courts and court time for this event and all proceeds from this event will be given to the Cystic Fibrosis Institute.

The CFI was founded on the fundamental principle that every person with cystic fibrosis deserves the opportunity to realize his or her full potential, to lead as normal a life as possible, and despite the many obstacles they and their families face, share in the joys of life itself. The Cystic Fibrosis Institute supports Chicagoland children and young adults with CF and their families with many unmet needs that insurance and foundations don’t provide such as enhanced nutritional support, cab fares for emergency hospitalizations and transplant operations, transplant process support, caregiver education, emotional support during all stages but especially during teen to young adult transitional times and many other important areas. The varsity team selected this organization as the beneficiary of the fundraiser because it is a cause that is meaningful to them as one of the team members has a family member with CF.
