K9 Unit Tracks Woman Reported As Suicidal In Knollwood
The 46-year-old was found unharmed after K9 Dax found her hiding behind some bushes Saturday night, the sheriff's office said.

SHIELDS TOWNSHIP, IL — A canine unit from the Lake County Sheriff's Office tracked a woman who had reportedly threatened to kill herself Saturday night, the office announced Monday. Deputies were dispatched shortly before 10 p.m. to the 0-100 block of North Waukegan Road in Knollwood after a 46-year-old Chicago woman had sent a text message indicating she was going to commit suicide.
According to the sheriff's office, the caller told authorities they believed the woman was on her way to an unspecified business on North Waukegan Road.
Police arrived and searched the area for the woman but were unable to find her, according to a release. Deputy John Forlenza and Dax, his K9 partner, were called to the scene to help search for her.

After a brief track, Dax was able to find the woman uninjured and hiding behind some bushes at a home nearby. She was taken to the hospital for a psychological evaluation, the sheriff's office said.
