Lake Bluff Gas Station Cited for Selling Alcohol to Minors

The Lake Bluff gas station was among four businesses cited during recent Lake County Sheriff's Office compliance checks.

Four businesses in Lake County were cited for selling alcohol to minors during recent compliance checks.

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office conducted compliance checks at 60 businesses in June. Of those businesses, authorities said four clerks sold alcohol to someone under the age of 21 at the following businesses:

  • Dora Martinez, 22, a clerk at the Lake Bluff Shell, 28787 North Waukegan Road in Lake Bluff, has been cited for selling alcohol to a minor.
  • Dipak Naki, 59, a clerk at Foremost Liquors, 20606 North Milwaukee Avenue in Deerfield, has been cited for selling alcohol to a minor.
  • Sheryl A. Braddock, 58, a clerk at the Grayslake Mobil, 33199 North Route 45 in Grayslake, has been cited for selling alcohol to a minor.
  • Gina L. Pedicone, 38, a clerk at the Antioch Citgo, 41082 North Route 83 in Antioch, has been cited for selling alcohol to a minor.

Of the four establishments in violation, two clerks failed to check identification and the other two checked identification, but sold the alcohol to the underage person anyway, according to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office press release.

“There is the potential for so much tragedy to occur when someone underage purchases alcohol,” Sheriff Mark Curran said. “This is one of the many reasons we conduct random alcohol compliance checks.”

Court dates have been set for July 20 for those cited during the compliance checks, according to the news release.
