Lake Bluff Man Dealt Cocaine Near A Church: Cops
The 23-year-old was indicted by a Lake County grand jury on drug charges.

LAKE BLUFF, IL — The Lake County Sheriff's office says a Lake Bluff man has been charged with two felonies in connection with the possession and sale of cocaine. Farrakhan J. Muhammad, 23, of the 900 block of Jenkisson Avenue in Lake Bluff, was arrested at his home in the early morning hours of Sept. 11 as part of a multi-jurisdictional operation with local and federal agencies, according to a spokesperson for the Sheriff's office.
Muhammad had indicted by a Lake County grand jury on one count of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance within 1000 feet of a church and unlawful possession of a controlled substance. The warrant for his arrest was obtained by the Metropolitan Enforcement Group, the Sheriff's spokesperson said.
Muhammad is being held at Lake County Jail in lieu of $75,000 bond, and he is due to be arraigned Oct. 4 in Waukegan, according to the Sheriff's office. Delivery of a controlled substance close to a school, park or church is a class X felony, which carries a prison sentence of 6-30 years. In 2014, Muhammad pleaded guilty to possessing of a firearm without a license, but other charges related to the firing of a gun and possession of drugs were dropped, according to court records.
