Lake Bluff Obituary: Susan Nelson, 83

Susan R. Nelson, 83, a long time resident of Lake Bluff, IL, died Sept 27, 2015 at Lake Forest Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Ben T.; loving mother of Barbara Nelson Perlman of Buffalo Grove and Marc (Breland) Nelson of Glenview; devoted grandmother of Beth and Brent Perlman and Ben and Clayton Nelson; and fond sister of Jennifer Curtsinger. She was preceded in death by her parents, Miles and Mahala Rankin, of Lake Bluff. She was a graduate of Carlton College where she first met Ben, her husband of 51 years. Sue was an avid genealogist, comprehensive family historian, adventurous world traveler, determined mahjong player, and good friend to many. Private services and burial will be held at Lake Forest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Community Church of Lake Forest & Lake Bluff, 117 E.
