Lake Bluff Police to Crackdown on Drunk Driving Super Bowl Weekend

Federal traffic safety funds will help department address seat belt law violators too.

The Lake Bluff Police Department will conduct special patrols during Super Bowl weekend to crack down on drunk drivers and seat belt law violators, the department announced Monday.

“Drunk driving is completely preventable,” said Chief David Belmonte. “All it takes is a little planning. We want fans to remember that it’s a choice, and the choice is simple. Drink or drive—but never do both. If you do, you will be arrested.”

Belmonte added that motorists can also “anticipate tickets for ignoring seat belt laws” as well.
