Lake Bluff School District 65 provides educational screening at no charge for preschool-age children who reside in Lake Bluff. Three, four, and five year-old children who have not entered Kindergarten are eligible for the preschool screening. The purpose of screening children is to help parents identify any development challenges in their children, not for advance placement in school. Developmental delays can be observed in a child’s speech and language, fine and gross motor skills, learning ability, or emotional and social growth. Nurses will also complete a brief vision and hearing screening.
Screenings take place on the following dates during the school year:

In order to participate, a child must be registered in advance. After the child is registered, an e-mail link with a questionnaire will be sent home to the parent/guardian. The screening occurs in person at Lake Bluff Elementary School with COVID safety precautions in place. Children over the age of 3 are required to wear a mask at this time.
