Lake Bluff Schools Honor Board Members

Lake Bluff School District 65 thanks volunteers on 'School Board Members Day' in Illinois.

Administrators and staff of Lake Bluff School District 65 thanked the seven volunteers on its board of education on Sunday, November 15, which had been dubbed “School Board Members Day” in Illinois.

Board of Education members currently serving District 65 are Mark Barry, President; John Marozsan, Vice President; Leigh Ann Charlot, Secretary; Julie Gottshall; Richard Hegg; Phil Hood; and Susan Rider.

“School board members serve their schools without monetary compensation. These everyday heroes work hard to make public education the best it can be for every child,” said Dr. Jean Sophie, District 65 Superintendent. “Their policies and oversight guide the District through tough decisions on complex educational and social issues that affect the entire community and the lives of individual students.”

As community trustees for the schools, school board members have oversight in District 65 for an annual budget of $17 million; 888 students in grades PreK to 8; 142 employees; and two schools.
