Lake Bluff To Test Fire Hydrants This Week
Tests will be performed during the morning hours Wednesday and Thursday.

The Village of Lake Bluff will test its public water system infrastructure and perform any necessary maintenance to the system on Wednesday and Thursday.
Exercising fire hydrants is being done “to ensure the reliability of its fire-protection infrastructure,” according to a press release issued Tuesday.
Lake Bluff Public Works crews will conduct fire hydrant flow testing in the Commercial District south of IL Rt. 176, between Waukegan Road and U.S. Rt. 41 beginning at 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 17, and in the Central Business District and adjacent areas south to the Lake Bluff Middle School starting at 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 28.

Testing should be completed by 1 p.m. both days.
As a result of the flow testing, a small amount of sediment could create a slight discoloration of the water. If residents and business owners notice any discoloration in the water during this time they are to simply run the tap for one to two minutes and the discoloration should clear.
