Lake County Clerk Candidate Carla Wyckoff to keep office moving forward efficiently and effectively.
Candidate's experience in election law and deep knowledge of the operations of the clerk's office offer Lake County voters a "Smart Choice."

Ensuring efficiency, effectiveness and continuing relevance: these three things are at the top of my to-do list once you elect me your next Lake County Clerk.
Over the past 14 years current Clerk Willard Helander and her staff worked hard to modernize the office. They’ve integrated software, ensured a vital web presence and engaged in active social media. All now help make sure voters, candidates and elected officials have current and accurate information.
I will continue to work hard to keep the Clerk’s office moving forward, better managing data and cutting costs where possible.
Cost cutting can be realized through streamlining operations in all units: elections, vital records and property tax extensions. Another important component is cross training of employees so that everyone can perform relevant functions during peak periods within the Clerk’s office. All will be done with resident needs at the forefront.

I also plan to ensure staff is carefully planning for state changes requiring county money for implementation. One example is the recent law expanding the grace period for registration and voting to run through Election Day at the county’s four permanent polling places. This requires longer hours, more election personnel, the printing of more ballots, all to answer an undefined need.
One key here is promotion of Vote by Mail to help better predict voter activity and ballot production.
It’s a big task, but one which I’m prepared to undertake as your next Lake County Clerk.
