Lake Forest Academy Football Star Picks Stanford

LAKE FOREST, IL - Thomas Schaffer, a star defensive end for the Lake Forest Academy football team, has made his college choice. It’s Stanford.

Chicagoland high school football guru “Edgy” Tim O’Halloran, a contributor for Comcast SportsNet Chicago, reported the news Wednesday night, selecting the Cardinal over a list of finalists that included the universities of Oregon and Wisconsin.

Schaffer, a senior three-star ranked defensive end recruit, will join former LFA teammate Wesley Annan at Stanford. Annan redshirted his freshman season in 2015.

“I talked things over with my brother, my family and my coaches and they agree that Stanford is a great place for me,” Schaffer told “Edgy” Tim. “I had a great official visit to Stanford and that was a big part of my decision. Just the overall fit at Stanford was too hard for me to pass up.”
