Lake Forest Academy, Woodlands Ranked Among Best Private Schools in Illinois

Niche.com had two Lake Forest schools in their list of top ten private high schools in Illinois.

Niche.com, a website covering schools, has tabbed two Lake Forest institutions among the top ten private high schools in Illinois.

Lake Forest Academy (No. 3) and Woodlands Academy of the Sacred Heart (No. 6) were the only two Lake Forest schools to make the top 100 among 3,880 that were ranked based on academics, student culture and diversity.

While academics was used to base 60 percent of the score, responses from students, parents and alumni of the school were also weighted.

The factors were chosen to ”represent a healthy balance between statistical rigor and practical relevance in the ranking,” according to the website.

LFA trailed only the Latin School of Chicago and the University of Chicago Lab School on the list.

Other North Shore institutions on the top 100 were North Shore Country Day (No. 8), Loyola Academy (17), Roycemore Academy (19), Chicagoland Jewish High School (20) and Regina Dominican High School (92).
