Lake Forest Businessman Joins American Red Cross Regional Board of Directors

Northern Illinois board includes more than 30 civic and corporate leaders from a range of professional backgrounds.

LAKE FOREST, IL — The American Red Cross of Chicago & Northern Illinois has appointed Lake Forest resident Jim Carris, Senior Managing Director of the Chicago region of the commercial real estate company CBRE, to the Red Cross's regional volunteer board, the organization announced Tuesday.

“Jim Carris has extensive knowledge of corporate leadership and legal affairs through decades of working for top performing companies that will to help guide the strategic direction of our humanitarian services and programs in the community,” said Celena Roldán, Chief Executive Officer, American Red Cross of Chicago & Northern Illinois.

Carris brings nearly 30 years of experience to CBRE where he sits on the Executive Committee charged with driving the firm’s overall regional operations and business strategy. Prior to joining CBRE in 2011, Carris was a Senior Vice President at Jones Lang LaSalle, held leadership positions at BP, and also served as a practicing attorney with the Amoco Oil Company and Homart Development Company.

The volunteer Board includes more than 30 civic and corporate leaders from a range of professional backgrounds for the region that serves 9.5 million people in 21 counties in northern Illinois and is is led by Chairperson Jill Schaff of Baxter Healthcare (Retired).
