Lake Forest College hosts 2018 Literary Festival March 26–28

Annual Lit Fest brings writers, poets, and other creative thinkers to the College for public readings, workshops, and student discussions.

The fourrteenth incarnation of the Lake Forest Literary Festival is a celebration of poetry and historical fiction, including these thought-provoking events:

Monday, March 26

  • Prose Reading by Evan Lavender-Smith: The author of From Old Notebooks and Avatar opens the 2018 Lake Forest Literary Festival. Time: 4 p.m. Location: McCormick Auditorium, Johnson B, Middle Campus

  • Poetry Reading by Christine Larusso: The 2017 Madeline P. Plonsker Residency Prize winner reads her work, which appears or is forthcoming in Narrative Magazine, The Literary Review, The Awl, Apogee, Sycamore Review, Women’s Studies Quarterly, and Pleiades. Time: 4 p.m. Location: Meyer Auditorium, Hotchkiss Hall, Middle Campus
  • Poetry Reading by Carmen Giménez Smith: The author of Bring Down the Little Birds, a memoir, and five poetry collections, including the National Book Critics Circle nominee Milk and Filth and the forthcoming Cruel Futures, reads her work. Time: 7:30 p.m. Location: Meyer Auditorium, Hotchkiss Hall, Middle Campus
