Lake Forest College Softball Seeks World Series Berth This Weekend

With two wins this weekend over Alma, the Foresters will make their first World Series appearance in 13 years.

The Lake Forest College softball team is one step away from reaching the NCAA Division III World Series.

Following four consecutive victories to win their regional at home, the Foresters will play Friday, Saturday and if necessary, Sunday against Alma College (MI) in a best of three for the right to advance to the big show in Salem, Virginia - the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

The Foresters (35-9) opened their regional with a 3-2 loss to North Central, but responded in the double-elimination format with wins over Wisconsin-Whitewater, North Center and Hope College twice.
