Lake Forest Crime: Alleged LFC Weed Dealer Busted
Lake Forest police reports: March 25 - April 2

LAKE FOREST, IL — The following information comes from the Lake Forest Police Department as a record of police activity. An arrest is not an indication of guilt and criminal charges represent merely accusations. All defendants are innocent until their guilt is established by a court.
ARRESTS
Mirza I. Estrada-Perez, 34, of the 200 block of High St. in Highwood, was charged with driving without a license and cited for speeding on March 24 at 4:40 a.m. While on routine patrol, police saw a vehicle driving down Westleigh Road at a high rate of speed, clocking it at 61 mph in a posted 35 mph zone. Police then pulled over the car, and spoke with the driver, Estrada‐Perez. Police found she did not have a valid driver’s license. Estrada‐Perez was arrested and transported to the Lake Forest police department, charged with speeding and a lack of a valid driver’s license.

Amadeus J. Kozera, 20, of the 0-100 block of S. Maywood in Lake Forest, was arrested for driving under the influence and cited for traffic violations at 11:37 p.m. on March 24. Police received a report of vehicle driving in the wrong lane of traffic around Green Bay Road and Onwentsia. When they arrived, police found a black Infiniti had crashed into a tree in front of a house at 390 Onwentsia. The airbags were deployed and the vehicle had heavy damage. Police found Kozera in the driver’s seat and first called in the Lake Forest Fire Department to check for injuries. While speaking to Kozera, police smelled an odor of alcohol coming from his breath. He was also showing visible signs of alcohol impairment, they said. Kozera was transported to the Lake Forest Hospital for treatment, and based on information obtained by officers during the investigation, Kozera was arrested and charged with DUI and other traffic violations.
Donnell Howard, 22, of the 1500 block of S. Trumbull in Chicago, was arrested March 25 shortly before 2 a.m. Police on routine patrol observed a white vehicle speeding north on Route. 41. Police determined the vehicle was traveling 80 mph in a posted 55 mph zone. Police pulled the car over around Westleigh Road and determined the driver, Howard, did not have a valid driver’s license. He was arrested, transported to the Lake Forest police department and he was charged with speeding and no valid driver’s license.

Irina Lelik, 42, of the 5300 block of North Cumberland in Chicago, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence on March 25 around 11 p.m. Police were called to the area of Westleigh Road and Route 43 by a report of a disabled vehicle. The report said it had left the roadway and was facing northbound in southbound lanes. When police arrived they found a white 2014 Nissan Versa resting, disabled, partially in the grass, along the west side of Route 43 near Gavin Ct. The Nissan was resting atop the curb, facing northbound, with both passenger wheels off the roadway, resting in the grass and the vehicle had two completely shredded front tires. Officers approached the vehicle and met with the driver, Irina Lelik. While speaking to the driver, officers detected a strong odor of alcohol on her breath as well as noting her blood shot eyes and speech. Lelik told officers she was currently in Park Ridge, she was unaware her vehicle was off the roadway and damaged and she was having issues understanding officers. Officers continued their investigation and subsequently Lelik was arrested and charged with Driving Under the Influence.
Charles W. Keilman, 19, of Tarzana, California was charged with felony possession of cannabis with intent to deliver on March 26 shortly after 3 a.m. Lake Forest police responded to Lake Forest College Public Safety Office in reference a student who was in possession of a large amount of cannabis and items of drug paraphernalia. Officers learned LFC Public Safety officers were walking through a residence hall and detected a strong odor of burnt cannabis coming from a dorm room. LFC Public Safety officers investigated the strong odor and met with the assigned resident of the room, later identified as Kleinman, and after speaking with Kleinman they recovered the quantity of cannabis and drug paraphernalia from Kleinman’s possession. Kleinman was interviewed at the scene by Lake Forest Police officers and then transported to the Lake Forest police department where he was further interviewed, the confiscated items were examined and the Lake County States Attorney was consulted on charges. Kleinman was subsequently charged with
Steven Scott, 35, of the 800 block of Broadway Ave., North Chicago was arrested after police on routine patrol stopped a silver Chevrolet for suspended vehicle registration on March 31 at 1:11 a.m. at Route 41 and Westleigh Road. When officers approached and talked to the driver, identified as Scott they determined his driver’s license was suspended. He was arrested for driving while license suspended and driving with a suspended registration, processed and released on bond.
Tanner C. Kuhn, 20, and Tyler M. Kuhn, 24, were pulled over shortly after 9 a.m. on March 30. Police Police on routine patrol in the area of Route 41 and Westleigh Road stopped a black sedan for speeding. When police approached the vehicle and spoke to the driver, Tanner Kuhn, officers smelled the odor of cannabis emanating from the vehicle. A search of the vehicle was conducted and officers located a quantity of cannabis and drug paraphernalia in their possession. Both subjects were cited for possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia.
