Lake Forest Crime: Drunk Drivers Get In Accidents, Think They're In Gurnee
Lake Forest police reports: March 18-March 24

LAKE FOREST, IL — The following information comes from the Lake Forest Police Department as a record of police activity. An arrest is not an indication of guilt and criminal charges represent merely accusations. All defendants are innocent until their guilt is established by a court.
DUI
Yuxing Wang, 33, of the 2000 block of Sherman Avenue in Evanston was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol after police responded to the scene of a three vehicle accident at Route 41 and Westleigh Road around 11:41 p.m. on March 21. Once on the scene, police began investigating the accident in which Wang’s vehicle rear-ended a vehicle stopped at the light. Subsequent to the investigation, police spoke to Wang concerning her involvement in the accident and while speaking to Wang, officers noted the odor of alcohol coming from her car and from her breath.

WARRANT, UNDERAGE ALCOHOL, SUSPENDED LICENSE, CANNABIS POSSESSION
Joshua J. Troche, 18, of the 2600 block of Prince Avenue in Chicago was arrested shortly before 5 a.m. on March 20. Lake Forest police said they were on routine patrol when they noticed a silver Subaru 4 door hatchback driving with an expired registration plate. Police stopped the vehicle on Old Elm Road and spoke to the driver, Troche, who was advised of why he was stopped. While speaking to the driver, officers on scene immediately smelled the odor of cannabis coming from inside the car. Police were able to determine Troche had a suspended Illinois driver license and had two outstanding warrants: one out of Lake County for failure to appear, and one out of Cicero for a bond forfeiture warrant for driving while license suspended. Police arrested Troche and when searching the vehicle located other drug paraphernalia and quantities of cannabis. He was charged with possession of cannabis, possession of alcohol by a minor and driving while license suspended.

DUI
Daniel Chaidez, 26, of the 3100 block of North Pearl Avenue in Melrose Park, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol shortly before 2 a.m. on March 20. Police said they were on routine patrol when they noticed a silver Dodge truck parked in the road in the area of Kennicott Drive and Olmsted Road. While speaking with the driver, Chaidez, cops said they spotted a quantity of beer in the vehicle and an open beer in the driver’s possession. Chaidez appeared intoxicated and thought he was in Gurnee.
REVOKED LICENSE
Cordero Everett, 30, of the 7200 block of South Bennett in Chicago, was arrested at 12:22 a.m. on March 20. Police said they spotted him driving a black sedan in the area of Route 41 and Deerpath. They noticed his car only had one functional headlight. After pulling the car over, they determined Everett's license was suspended.
UNDERAGE DRINKING
An 18-year-old and a 17-year-old were arrested shortly after midnight on March 17. Police said they were on routine patrol in the area of Everett School around when they noticed a black 2011 BMW X3 parked in the rear parking lot of Everett School with the engine running with the lights on. When police approached the car and spoke to the driver and passenger, officers detected a strong odor of alcohol coming from the vehicle and officers observed a 750ml bottle of “Fireball” whiskey in the rear seat. Police had both teens get out of the car and subsequently determined the 18-year-old had consumed some alcoholic beverage and the juvenile was in possession of alcohol.
