Lake Forest-Lake Bluff Rotary raising funds to provide winter coats for needy children again this year

Donations are needed to help the service club provide brand-new winter coats for children in need in North Chicago and Highwood.

Continuing its tradition of community service, The Rotary Club of Lake Forest-Lake Bluff plans to distribute new winter coats to needy children in the North Chicago School District, Foss Park–Park District, and the Nuestro Center in Highwood. In the past six years, the Lake Forest-Lake Bluff Rotary Club has distributed over 2,700 new winter coats to children in need in these communities.

Area residents can help the Rotary Club with this important project by making a tax-deductible donation on the Rotary Club’s website at www.lflbrotary.org or contacting David Schafer at 847-234-5000, ext. 5410.

A winter coat is an essential item in Illinois. A coat provides more than just warmth; it allows children to attend school on cold days, where they receive not only an education but also nutritious meals. A new coat provides the added benefit of increasing self-esteem – who doesn’t like getting new things?
