Lake Forest Obituary: Brandon Cox, 44

Brandon Cox passed away unexpectedly on July 27, 2017 at age 44. Brandon is survived by his wife of 23 years, Claudia Cox née Vistrain-Vazquez, his 5-year-old twin daughters, Sophia and Samantha Cox, his mother, Susan Cox, his sisters, Tracy Cox and Angela Cox-Kasse and his nieces, nephews and many friends who loved him very much. He is predeceased by his brother, Shannon Cox, and his father, John Cox.

Brandon was born in Washington, D.C. to John and Susan Cox on April 22, 1973. He grew up in the suburbs of Washington, D.C. where he met his good friend, Billy Fox. Brandon met his soon-to-be wife, Claudia in the winter of 1994 and they married shortly after.

Brandon and his wife started their journey together in Frederick, Maryland, where they bought their first house and owned a small business. Brandon loved talking with people, so his jobs were always related to meeting people and building relationships.

He graduated from American University with a degree in political science and moved to Chicago, where his beautiful twin daughters Samantha and Sophia were born in January 2012. At the time of his death, he was working for Amarin Pharma Inc.

Everyone who met Brandon loved his fun, upbeat attitude.

“Stay happy, keep loose, don’t get too serious about everything… that’s life," these were words he lived by.

Brandon loved to travel and specially loved the beach. He was a loving husband, and the best father in the world. He adored his twin daughters and always tried to spend as much time as possible with them.

Brandon also loved antique cars and he looked forward to meeting with the ‘guys’ every Friday afternoon to talk shop. He was an exceptional son and brother, always looking after his mom and sisters.

A funeral service will be held on August 12, 2017 at 11 am at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church (Old Church), 991 S Waukegan Rd, Lake Forest, IL 60045. Msgr. Dempsey will officiate. A small reception to celebrate Brandon’s life will follow. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Liver Foundation.
