Lake Forest Obituary: Fred Lutz, 90

Fred Lutz, 90, of Lake Forest, Beloved husband of the late Virginia Lutz, lost his battle with cancer and heart disease on March 17, 2015. Fred is now at peace in Heaven with his precious wife, Virginia, who has been his soul mate for over 50 years. He is survived by his only child, Carol Lutz Comstock, Scottsdale, AZ and his very dearest friend, Mary Murphy of Zion, IL. Fred believed that education was the key to success. He became the oldest student to graduate from Lake Forest College with a Master’s Degree at 86 years old. Dad also loved playing golf, reading, history and dining out with friends. Fred had many wonderful friends whom he loved with all of his heart. Fred’s nick name was “Friendly Freddy”. He lived his life with joy and a positive attitude to share happiness and good times with others. His wishes are for his friends and family to have a celebration of life in his honor, to reminisce and share cherished memories that they had with Fred during his lifetime.
