Mary W. Reusché, 86, of Lake Forest, IL, passed away on January 25, 2015. Beloved wife of the late Robert F. Reusché for 61 years; loving mother of Emily (Michael Lavelle) Selbe, Anne (David Marzahl) Reusché, and Alec (Tracy) Reusché; devoted grandmother to Bob Selbe, Kiel and Lily Marzahl, Melissa, Ted and Tom Reusché; fond sister of Robert Westbrook, Dixie Grubb and Nancy (Richard) Blackburn; cherished mother-in-law, dear aunt, and friend to many. Mary graduated from Ohio State University in 1950 with a degree in business administration. She was elected to the Beta Gamma Sigma honor society and was a dedicated member of Alpha Phi sorority. Mary was a long-time member of the Lake Forest Hospital Women’s Auxiliary Board and a devoted volunteer. For more than 25 years, she and her friends on the Crafts Committee met weekly to make handcrafted items for the Hospital’s gift shop. Mary served as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for 12 years, advocating for the best interests of abused and neglected children within the juvenile court system. Among their many charitable and civic commitments, Mary and her late husband, Bob, created two endowed scholarship funds at Ohio State University. They also established a major endowment fund at The Lake County Community Foundation and were leadership supporters of The Nature Conservancy in West Virginia. Mary was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Lake Bluff, IL where she sang in the choir for more than 50 years. Her beautiful alto voice will be greatly missed.
