Lake Forest Patch Honors Graduating Seniors Of Class Of 2020

Patch salutes all graduates in this year's historic high school class. Find out where some of them are headed next year.

LAKE FOREST, IL — Lake Forest-Lake Bluff Patch is sharing the achievements of local high school graduates by putting them in the spotlight this month. Due to the coronavirus, in-person classroom teaching and extracurricular gatherings have been canceled for the rest of the 2019-2020 school year in Illinois.

We know these wonderful seniors are missing out on some of the last moments of the school year and we hope to give the community a way to share their pride in our class of 2020 high school graduates.

Here are some of the graduating high school seniors from the historic class of 2020:

Nika Belova, Lake Forest High School

Belova, who plans to study engineering at Princeton University, was the co-founder of the Women in STEM Club at LFHS, an instructor at Mathnasium and a three-year member of the school's math team, according to her family. She also qualified for state championships in varsity tennis and badminton in every opportunity she had. Belova was a member of the state champion tennis team and took fourth place in doubles in 2019.

Trevor Mower, Lake Forest High School

Mower plans to attend Miami University and study sports management and analytics after playing hockey in high school, according to his family.

Message from family: "We are so proud of all of your accomplishments and the amazing person you have become. Great things lie ahead of you. Enjoy every moment and keep following your dreams and goals."


Sean Ryan, Loyola Academy

Ryan, who plans to attend Penn State in the fall, played golf and lacrosse at Loyola and sang in choir and acapella, according to his family.

Katie Bondoc, Lake Forest High School

Bondoc, who intends to study at Boston College, was a member of the soccer team and competed in cross-country, according to her family.

Adam “A.J.” Moore, Lake Forest High School

Moore was a teacher's assistant for new media studies, technology and graphic design. He plans to attend Columbia College Chicago and study film, graphic design and business, according to his family.

Message from family: "Congratulations AJ! We are so proud of all your hard work and the man you have become. We cannot wait to watch your future unfold."


Gianluca M. Minetti, Lake Forest High School

Minetti intends to study business at the University of Michigan starting in the fall. At LFHS, he played golf and volunteered at Forrestal Elementary, according to his family.

Message from family: "Gianluca we are very proud of the young man you are becoming. We love you and look forward to new endeavors, love Mom, Dad, Carlos, Jo & Paola"


Sam Rappin, Lake Forest High School

Rappin, who plans to attend Colgate University, was a member of the environmental commission, track and cross-country teams and the National Honors Society, according to his family.

Charlotte Yehle, Lake Forest High School

Yehle plans to attend Elon University and study exercise science. During high school, she swam and played lacrosse and took part in Student to Student at LFHS, CROYA, Kairos and Ogichi Daa Kwe Camp, according to her family.

Grace C. Kellie, Lake Forest High School

Kellie intends to study biology at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, according to her family.

Demetrius Palmer, Warren Township High School

Warren Township HS Athletics: Track, Football, b Basketball Extra-curricular activities: Schuler Scholar Program, FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America), Spanish National Honors Society, Voluntering, Poetry.

Demetrius has committed to Howard University in Washington D.C. and will study Community Development & Finance

Message from family: "Congratulations to Demetrius Palmer for graduation with honors and a 3.95 GPA. You are a phenomenal young man and you have made your family proud!"


Anthony Ranallo, Lake Forest High School

Ranallo, who plans to study kinesiology at Coe College in the fall, played baseball during high school, according to his family.

Joseph W. Goodsir III, Lake Forest High School.

Goodsir plans to study journalism at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He was editor-in-chief of The Forest Scout, a four-year varsity swimmer, a member of the LFHS Concert Band and the National Honor Society, according to his family.

Robert Gray, Lake Forest High School

Gray, who plans on studying engineering and economics at Tufts University, was on the honor roll all eight semesters of high school and a member of the baseball team.
