Lake Forest Police Investigate Report of Sex Offender Volunteering at Church
Police say someone called with concern over a registered sex offender volunteer at the First Presbyterian Church of Lake Forest.

LAKE FOREST, IL - Police in Lake Forest are investigating a report of a registered sex offender volunteering at one of the churches in the city.
Someone called the police on Monday expressing concerns over the registered sex offender volunteering at the First Presbyterian Church of Lake Forest at 700 N. Sheridan Rd. and its proximity to the church's preschool.
"At this time, there is no indication that he had access to or contact with any of the children in the pre-school," police said in a news release on Thursday, noting the man "no longer works or volunteers" at the church.

It is unknown in what volunteer capacity the registered sex offender was allegedly participating in.
No charges have been filed, but police will continue an investigation into whether the man violated any Registered Sex Offender statutes.
