Lake Forest Postal Worker Investigated for Stealing Mail

An investigation into theft of mail from the Lake Forest Post Office has narrowed in on one individual, a U.S. Postal Service worker.

A special agent with the Office of the Inspector General informed the Lake Forester that his organization gets involved when the subject of an investigation is an employee or contract worker of the Postal Service.

The next step in the two-month long investigation, which began when a Lake Forest resident had filed a complaint after five letters he mailed from the post office never reached their recipients, is sending a report on the findings to the United States Attorney’s office.
