Lake Forest Library announced A Piece of the World by Christina Baker Kline as this year's selection for the sixth annual Lake Forest Reads: Ragdale, a one book/one community program that fosters a culture of reading and a sense of community in our city.
A Piece of the World is a work of fiction about the relationship between the painter Andrew Wyeth and Christina Olson, his muse and the subject of his most famous painting, Christina's World. Everyone is invited to read the book throughout the summer and early fall (the Library will have numerous copies available) and then enjoy book-related events at the Library and around Lake Forest in October. All events are free and open to the public.
The main event of Lake Forest Reads: Ragdale is A Conversation with the Author, Christina Baker Kline, moderated by Professor Davis Schneiderman, Lake Forest College Associate Dean of the Faculty. A Conversation with the Author will be held at Lake Forest College on October 25 at 7:00 pm. The event is free but registration is required. On October 26, Christina Baker Kline will attend a Tea & Talk at Lake Forest Library and make an appearance at Lake Forest Book Store.
