Lake Forest Sex Offender Sentenced To 39 Years In State Prison

The 49-year-old was found guilty of sexually abusing a child from the age of 7 to 15.

WAUKEGAN, IL — A Lake Forest man was sentenced to nearly five decades in state prison after he was convicted of sexually assaulting a child over a period of several years.

Wojciech Dzierzanowski, 49, was indicted in 2018 on 16 counts of predatory criminal sexual assault, aggravated criminal sexual abuse and domestic battery, court records show.

Dzierzanowski, who waived his right to a trial by jury, was convicted of 12 counts of the indictment — five of assault and seven of abuse — on April 28 following a bench trial before Lake County Circuit Judge Victoria Rossetti.

Prosecutors said Dzierzanowski sexually and physically abused a child from about the ages of 7 to 15, who later disclosed the abuse in therapy, according to a spokesperson for the Lake County State's Attorney's Office.

Court records indicate the incidents for which Dzierzanowski was convicted occurred in 2007 and 2012.

Dzierzanowski operated a home remodeling company out of his house in unincorporated Libertyville Township, which has a Lake Forest address, according to business records.

The Lake County Sheriff's Office was the arresting agency in the case, and Dzierzanowski was represented by defense attorney Robert Fisher.

According to the state's attorney's office, both of the victim’s parents gave victim impact statements at Dzierzanowski's sentencing.
