Lake Forest To Vote on $1 Million Contribution to Train Station Project
More than $1 million will be spent to provide 20 percent of the costs of the renovation.

Aldermen in Lake Forest are expected to vote on a staff recommendation Monday that would set aside more than $1 million in contribution to the improvements coming at the Lake Forest Metra Station.
As part of an agreement with the Illinois Transportation Enhancement Program, the city will pay 20 percent of the costs of the construction portion of the project and also a portion of Phase III engineering costs.

If approved by the City Council, Lake Forest will use $1,050,000 out of the 2016 capital fund for the project, officially labeled “Lake Forest Metra Station Union Pacific North Line Exterior Renovation Project.” An additional $171,720 would come out the the capital fund in 2017.
Expenditures of the project will be paid by Lake Forest, which will be reimbursed for 80 percent by ITEP.
