On Wed. May 28th at the Honors Assembly, Carol Russ, on behalf of the League of Women Voters of Lake Forest/Lake Bluff Area, presented the "Know Your Government" Award to three eighth grade students at Deer Path Middle School. The students are Megan Szostak, James Buckardt, and Jason Smith. Ms. Russ, Past President of the League of Women Voters, said "I am very pleased to acknowledge the accomplishments of these three outstanding students. They have exhibited an excellent understanding of the democratic process both in the classroom and with high scores on the State or Federal Constitution tests." The students received certificates and their names were engraved on a permanent plaque at the school.
