LFHS Adds 3 To Wall of Fame

Richard A. Knobloch, Jim Kuhlman and Phil Rosenthal honored by high school.

Three new names were added to the Lake Forest High School Wall of Fame this week.

Alumni Richard A. Knobloch (posthumously, 1936), Jim Kuhlman (1959) and Phil Rosenthal (1981) were recognized for their accomplishments post-graduation, according to a community post on the Daily North Shore.

Knobloch was a World War II volunteer who flew in the Doolittle Tokyo Raid of 1942 and retired as a Brigadier General in 1970 before serving as an executive for United Technologies Corporation and on the board for the Barclays Bank of New York. Knobloch died in 2001.

Kuhlman is a Distinguished Chair Professor Emeritus at the University of South Carolina and has published six books on global economics and politics. He was awarded the Outstanding Civilian Service Medal from the US Army War College for contributions to the National Security Review.

Rosenthal is a well-known journalist who has worked for the Chicago Tribune, Chicago Sun-Times and Los Angeles Daily News, writing professionally since age 17.
