LFHS Moves to Fire Math Teacher Accused of Kissing Kid's Neck

Albert Macius has been on paid leave since May, but will be fired barring the outcome of a potential hearing.

The Lake Forest High School District 115 board of education is making a move to fire a math teacher who is accused of inappropriate contact with a 17-year-old female student.

The board adopted Charges of Dismissal and a Bill of Particulars (the first step toward removing a tenured teacher) against Albert Macius, 64 this week, according to the Daily North Shore. Macius faces two counts of misdemeanor battery for making inappropriate physical contact with a 17-year-old student while tutoring her in her home. He has been on paid leave from the school since May.

Previous reports indicate Macius is alleged to have kissed the neck of the student and touched her leg.

D-115 Superintendent Michael Simeck recommended the move because Macius was accused of “inappropriate conduct concerning a student receiving district homebound tutoring services.”

Now officially “suspended without pay,” Macius can request a hearing before a hearing officer. If he does not make this request, he will be terminated. will be dismissed.
