LFHS Principal Chala Holland To Be Presented With Regional Honor
The outgoing Lake Forest High School principal is set to receive the Lake Region Principal of the Year Award Friday.

LAKE FOREST, IL — A representative of the Illinois Principals Association is due to visit Lake Forest High School Friday to present Principal Chala Holland with the association's Lake Region High School Principal of the Year award.
The professional organization of Illinois principals picked Holland for the regional award in January.
Winners are picked by the fellow principals according to seven selection criteria, according to an announcement from Lake Forest Community High School District 115.

They include:
demonstrating a positive impact on education and advocacy for children;
ensuring the school climate is positive and reflects high staff and student morale;
creativity and imagination in bringing about positive change;
willingness to take risks to improve student learning;
actively moving to implement the goals and objectives of the school;
working collaboratively with teachers and other staff to improve the educational program and student achievement;
anticipating emerging problems and acting effectively to resolve them;
involving the community in the life of the school and using community resources for students;

Last month, the group it named McHenry County High School – East Principal Jeff Prickett as the Illinois High School Principal of the year.
The award presentation is scheduled for 11 a.m. at Lake Forest High School's 1285 McKinley Road campus.

Holland is due to leave the district at the expiration of her second three-year contract to become assistant superintendent of administrative services in Naperville Community Unit School District 203.
Holland's one-year contract to become assistant superintendent in District 203 includes a similar base salary but substantial benefits.
At LFHS, she had a base salary of $189,000 with more than $19,000 in retirement enhancements and nearly $9,000 in other benefits, according to the District 115's administrative benefits report. Her base salary will be $190,000, along with a $10,000 in an annuity and $28,500 in other benefits in Naperville District 203.
