LFHS's 'Urinetown' Garners Three Nominations For State-Wide Awards

Lake Forest High School's production of the musical has been nominated for three 2017 High School Musical Theater Awards.

LAKE FOREST, IL — In its first year entering the competition, Lake Forest High School received three nominations in this year's Illinois High School Musical Theater Awards for its production of Urinetown, the school's theater department announced this week.

LFHS's nominations included faculty members Kelly MacBlane and John Wanninger for Best Direction, student technical director Ryan Eleveld for Best Scenic Design, and a Best Actress nomination for Gracie Stockton. The Lake Forest nominees were selected from 74 competing schools from around the state.

As a result, Stockton will participate in a workshop led by Adam Jacobs, currently performing the role of Aladdin in the National Touring Company of Aladdin, on June 5. She will then have the opportunity to perform in front of a panel of professional judges for a chance to compete at the national competition in New York City.
