LFSA Team Wins Division Championship

The U14 Girls Select Team went 5-1-1 this fall against other premier teams in the Midwest.

The Lake Forest Soccer Association’s U14 Girls Select Team won the Midwest Region League Premier West Division championship this fall with a 5-1-1 record against a collection of top teams from Illinois and neighboring states. The group ended the fall season ranked eighth nationally by Gotsoccer.

In addition to its divisional title, the team had strong fall tournament showings: winning the Gallagher Girls Fall Classic, finaling in the Palatine Celtic (playing in highest U15 flight) and semi-finaling in the Eclipse Challenge Cup.

Over the past three years, the Oktay Akgun-coached squad has dominated state play, winning back-to-back state championships while losing only three of 42 league games.
