4 in custody after allegedly being caught breaking into car on Farm Road.

Lake Forest police now have all four offenders allegedly caught in the act of breaking into a car in the 1800 block of Farm Road early Wednesday morning in custody. The search for two of the suspects who initially got away caused a temporary lockdown of Everett School, which was lifted at 10 a.m.

According to police, officers responded to a burglary in progress call at the location and found the four, unidentified at this time, in the act. Two were arrested immediately, but the other two fled on foot.

The suspects were located shortly before 10 a.m., when the school was released from lockdown.

Two School Resource Officers were stationed at Everett School, located approximately one mile away, to meet and work with school officials prior to the school day beginning. The lockdown lasted during morning drop offs and the school’s automated phone notification system was used to advise parents of the situation.

Police from Highland Park, Bannockburn, Deerfield and Lake Bluff assisted in addition to two K9 units and the Air One police helicopter during the search. An automated phone notification was sent to homes between the boundaries of Everett Road, Illinois Route 94, Telegraph Road and Old Mill Road.
