Long Grove's Apple Haus has closed due to the economy, the store announced Monday (Jan. 23) on its Facebook page.

"Please continue to support the small businesses in your area so that they don't meet the same fate that we did."

Monday's announcement came about three weeks after the store shut its doors. A spokeswoman said at the time that the store had closed for inventory.

Apple Haus drew long lines of sweet-toothed customers during Long Grove's Apple Festivals. The store thanked customers today for their "years of support."

Apple Haus' frozen pies and Chef Ivo products will continue to be sold at the Long Grove Confectionery, according to the store's Facebook page. Frozen pies will also be sold at the Long Grove Confectionery Outlet in Buffalo Grove, at Angelo Caputo stores, and via home delivery from Lou Malnati's and Oberweis.
