If you meet those qualifications, the League of Women Voters has a free, comprehensive resource to help you with the registration and voting processes. The Illinois Voter Guide https://IllinoisVoterGuide.org shows how to: register, order a vote-by-mail ballot, learn what's on the ballot, and see information about the candidates. It is quick and easy to use.

For this election, online voter registration is available until Oct. 18. The Illinois Voter Guide explains other ways you can register, up to and including election day on Nov. 3rd.

Voter registration is nonpartisan. A voter does not register for a political party.

After you register, a Certificate of Registration Card will be mailed to you. It indicates where to vote, what your voting districts are, and your precinct number which is helpful when you go to a voting site. You are not required to present the card in order to vote.
