Man Hit by Car and Killed on Sheridan Road in Beach Park

BEACH PARK, IL - A 54-year-old man was killed Monday after being hit by a car on Sheridan Road in Beach Park.

Deputies with the Lake County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene just north of West Yorkhouse Road at 8:43 p.m., according to a news release from the department.

While attempting to cross Sheridan Road from the west side of the street to the east side, the victim was struck by a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado Pickup headed northbound. The driver - a 62-year-old man from Kenosha, Wisconsin was uninjured and is cooperating with the investigation, police said.

The victim was pronounced dead after he arrived at Vista East Hospital with critical injuries.

The crash remains under investigation by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Technical Crash Investigations Unit.
